The Weekend Edit

PODCAST: I am so into podcasts lately.. I think it’s because I’ve become obsessed with walking (like the senior citizen I truly am at heart). I’ve been walking my dogs for an hour most evenings, and I walk a little ways to get to work so I’ve been logging well over 10,000 steps most days. I still feel guilty though because I know I should be running or biking more to get my heart rate up and blah blah blah… But walking and listening to a podcast is so chill and relaxing. I just love it. My latest find on the podcast front is Earn Your Happy with Lori Harder. Lori is a fitness competitor turned ‘self-love junkie’ and I have to admit I was a bit sceptical of this podcast at first because I’m not really into self-help type things.. but this podcast has so many inspiring tidbits that I can totally relate to. She covers topics like motivation, self-care and how to build willpower. I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve heard so far and look forward to listening each evening as I head out for my old lady walk (orthopaedic shoes not included)…

RECIPE: Simple French Bread from A Burst of Beautiful. Doesn’t this look amazing? And seems quite simple to make as well. I’m picturing the delicious smell of freshly baked bread wafting through the house this Sunday…

SHOPPING: I am heading to the East Coast to visit my family next week.. Just Emmylou and I (Girls trip!). Zach might join us for the weekend depending on a couple of work trips he has scheduled. In light of this, I need some casual, comfy (stretchy) clothes to wear on our red eye flights, and also on the trip in general because where I’m going… the vibe is super laid back. Zach got my this Fossil wallet (and a really cute, really soft grey and blue owl scarf) for early birthday gifts. I’m really happy to have the wallet for the trip because mine was literally falling apart. I also picked up these New Balance for J.Crew kicks in a dark blue/navy which I am super excited about. A pair of comfy tights, a grey tank and a grey sweater and I am all set for the flight!

Also loving the cut of this blue, floral print dress, this swingy tunic, and this ivory off-the-shoulder romper. All casual pieces that you could dress up or down so easily!
