RECIPE: California Roll Sushi Bowls. Sushi will always be one of my favourites. When I lived in Vancouver I ate it several times a week, but since moving back to Calgary, my sushi obsession has somewhat tapered off. Probably because there isn’t a cheap yet delicious sushi place on every corner here so it’s more of an effort. But these sushi bowls might just change everything! As soon as I saw this recipe, I knew I had to make it. She also suggests serving it in small bowls at parties! How fun is that?

BOOK: The French Chef in America: Julia Child’s Second Act. I love everything French, including French cooking, so this newly released book recounting the return to America of the legendary chef who brought French cuisine to the American public is a must read!

SHOPPING: Well, things are getting chilly here in Alberta… and it’s got me craving a few new cozy pieces to celebrate the season! For some reason I’m super into neutrals right now (even more so than usual… lol) and grey and navy seem to be making up the majority of my wardrobe these days, which makes things super easy when getting dressed in the morning… haha. Some might say that wearing the same two colours day after day is boring, but I think it opens up your options to play with texture and pattern, while still ensuring you look put together.

I love this grey ribbed sweater dress and well as this darker grey turtleneck sweater dress (both great prices). And these grey over-the-knee boots with a block heel or these black ones would pair perfectly with either! This oversized charcoal sweater with these Rag and Bone skinnies would also be a perfect combo for some over-the-knee boots action. Any of these outfits would be perfect for this Rebecca Minkoff suede cross body or this fringe option. This stripped canvas backpack is also super cute and a great price point. Annnddd I want this blue tote with an embossed cat. I don’t know why. I have dogs. And I also might want this sweatshirt with a cat on it. Even though it is quite pricey for a sweatshirt with a cat on it.

And now for some serious coziness… I love these free people leggings, these rose gold leggings (NOT neutral!), and this long sleeve tee inferring that I am a Goddess (which I am, actually). I also always have a few stripped tees in rotation (for instant chicness), and this classic Petit Bateau one is lovely.
