TV SHOW: The Crown. I’m a bit of a monarchy fanatic lately (mostly because Prince George and Princess Charlotte are so cute) so I am very excited about this new Netflix show. It was released yesterday (on Netflix so the whole season is available) and it’s already getting great reviews. The period drama follows the life of Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family – and as the most expensive TV show ever made, I’ve heard that it puts Downtown Abbey to shame.
RECIPE: Plum Tarts With Honey And Black Pepper. This dessert (or breakfast…) is ridiculously easy to make and looks ridiculously amazing – a winning combo in my books! With four ingredients (besides salt and pepper) and minimal prep, this could be whipped up in no time for an easy treat that’s totally Instagram worthy.
SHOPPING: We’re still enjoying warm(ish) weather here in Alberta, but in my mind it’s a winter wonderland… Especially now that Halloween is over! Emmylou and I have been singing Christmas songs pretty much non-stop. I’m trying to teach her all of the words to ‘Santa Clause is Coming to Town’ and for a two and a half year old she’s catching on pretty fast… haha. With my mind on winter, I’ve been picking up a few warmer pieces. I just ordered this Free People knit turtleneck in deep purple (a colour I never wear, so excited to see how I like it), and this super cozy light blue knit tunic from J.Crew. I also ordered this lightweight navy turtleneck, which I think will look great with a nice pair of skinny jeans (these, or these perhaps). And finally, I ordered this olive coat with faux fur trim – it is a great price ($85!) and I don’t have any casual winter coats besides my super warm parka so it’s a welcome addition to my closet!
