Is everyone getting back into the swing of things after the long-weekend festivities? We didn’t have a long weekend in Canada because our Thanksgiving was in October, but I saw alllll about it on social media and man was I jealous! The turkey, the shopping, the extra time with friends and family… Next year I might just have to celebrate Thanksgiving twice I’m thinking…
We still managed to have a wonderfully festive weekend, even if it was only two days long. Zach had his company Christmas party on Friday so we dropped Emmylou off at her Aunts and had a night (and morning) to ourselves which was much appreciated! And then of course when we went to pick her up I was so worried that she had been up since 6 causing havoc (as per usual), but no, she slept in until 8:30!!! Are you kidding? What am I doing wrong? Haha. Saturday night we had dinner with friends and Sunday we picked up some coffee and went for a long walk with the dogs (and listened to Christmas music of course, much to Zach’s dismay). I’m so happy that this week is finally the beginning of December so that I can go full out Christmas mode… hehe. This weekend I plan to get a start on my Christmas baking (expect a few blog posts on edible gift ideas if all goes according to plan) and I have ANOTHER Christmas party to attend on Friday with a group of my previous co-workers, which is always such a fun time.
Looking ahead to the weather this week, it’s about to get CHILLY (and snowy!), so I’m happy I’ve been getting some use out of this cropped moto jacket that I recently picked up. My original intent was to have it for our trip to Victoria over Christmas because it’s always warmer there, but I’ve been wearing it so much already because we’ve been having such uncharacteristically warm weather for this time of year. It’s perfect with sweaters, skinny jeans, and boots, and I can picture wearing it with dresses in the spring as well.
I’m loving this grey scarf (another great scarf find from H&M), and of course I’m wearing my favorite jeans and otk boots. I find that I often stick to the same staples with it comes to pants and shoes, but I’m always switching up my tops and jackets for some reason. You can’t really see my shirt but it’s also a new item from Nordstrom that I am loving – a super versatile navy turtleneck – that is perfect for layering and a great price. My bag is sold out in grey, but available in burgundy.
Hope you all have a great week, and if it’s back to work for you today just drink an extra coffee! You’ll be fine!
