The Weekend Edit: New Year’s edition

Items, ideas & inspiration: New Year's Edition

Happy New Year everyone! How is your first week of 2017 going? I love the New Year because after the busyness and indulgences of the holiday season, it’s a perfect time to relax, get back into healthy habits, and set goals and intentions for the upcoming year. I’ve been planning (and slowly starting to execute) some ideas I have for my business, the blog, and my personal life this week. And I’m finding that after a bit of a holiday hangover, I’m slowly feeling more and more motivated and inspired.

Keeping with the theme of New Year and New Possibilities, I’ve wanted to make this post all about inspiration for an amazing 2017.

BOOK: Radical Beauty: How to Transform Yourself from the Inside Out. I read this book in the fall and really enjoyed it. It’s full of recipes, DIY beauty, healthy eating tips, traditional Ayurvedic medicine techniques, and all kinds of other goodies! I’ll definitely be flipping through this book in the coming weeks for some healthy inspo!

RECIPE: Carrot Quinoa Oatmeal Breakfast Cookies from Love & Lemons. I love the idea of breakfast cookies. Mostly because I love cookies, but also because they are a quick, healthy option for busy mornings. These Carrot Quinoa Oatmeal ones sound divine!

PODCAST: More Perfect. We recently purchased a new sound system for our living room with the intention of listening to more music and podcasts. Zach and I always love listening to podcasts when we are on a long drive, and when we were driving back from Victoria over the holidays, we decided to start listening to them at home as well, rather than watching so much TV. We are just finishing one up that we started on our trip, but next in line is More Perfect from NPR, which tells the stories of some of the U.S. Supreme Court biggest rulings. We’ve listened to one episode and are totally hooked.

SHOPPING: If a new set of workout attire doesn’t inspire you to get to the gym, I don’t know what will J. I love these moto leggings in navy (well, I love anything in navy so this comes as no surprise). I also like these leggings with a fun pattern and mesh inset. And these Free People joggers look so comfy and have great reviews. For tops I love this ‘Célfie’ tee and can totally picture wearing it for a workout or running errands, this cozy zip-up hoodie (in navy, obviously), and this versatile cardigan that would be perfect for throwing on after a workout! For kicks I love these grey and white Nike’s, as well as these Steve Madden platform sneakers, which you obviously couldn’t wear to workout but they have pom-poms so I had to include them!
