Helllooooo Monday! Was anyones weekend as chaotic as mine? The past couple of weekends we’ve been getting our house painted so we’ve been staying in a hotel, which sounds fun, but when you have to also move ALL your furniture, empty out ALL of your closets, take ALL of your paintings/photos off the walls, pack and unpack for two adults, one toddler and two dogs, Oh and decide on a new paint colour for the upstairs in like one day because you don’t like the one you originally picked… Well, as I said chaotic is probably the most PG term I could use to describe it.
So I’m in a bit of a conundrum. I desperately need to get my hair done… but I’m trying to get pregnant (!!!), and if I am I want to put off colouring my hair until later in the pregnancy. So I don’t even want to book a cut because if I do and then I find out I’m not pregnant yet I’ll be like ‘darn should have gotten in coloured while I can!’ So I wait… In brassy highlights purgatory…
I’ve officially found the perfect pair of jeans for spring. The fit is amazing, they are incredibly soft and comfortable, and I love the raw hem. It’s possible I’ve been wearing them almost every day since I got them up a couple of weeks ago… But they’re seriously that comfy.
It really feels like spring is in the air! This might be wishful thinking on my part… It is still February in Canada after all. But we had such a gorgeous weekend, the snow is melting, and the days are getting longer. This time of year I always feel motivated to change things up, whether it be doing some de-cluttering, starting to pick up a few items for my spring/summer wardrobe, and eating a bit healthier after a loonnngggg winter of indulging :).
Valentine’s Day is in one week! Eek I’m so excited! It’s funny, I used to really dislike Valentine’s Day. I always thought it was a bit cheesy to be honest, but not anymore! I don’t know what changed (perhaps I’m a bit cheesy now… lol) but these days I get really into it. We still don’t usually go out, but we often cook a nice meal at home and do a few other fun things leading up to it with Emmylou – like baking heart shaped cookies!
This weekend it snowed. And snowed, and snowed, and it’s STILL snowing… so naturally, I spent Sunday afternoon making soup. I love making tomato soup. It reminds me of winter days during my childhood, siting in my Grandmother’s kitchen and slurping warm bowls of Campbell’s, most often with a grilled cheese on the side.
